Team India
memos works with people in India who are directly involved in the making of each garment.
Production takes place in family-owned workshops with experienced teams. The people shown here work as tailors, cutters, and in supporting roles, each contributing practical skills developed over many years.
Work is carried out under clear and defined conditions: fair payment, regular working hours, proper facilities, and no child labour. These standards are a basic requirement and the foundation of every collaboration.
Decisions are made in close exchange. Sampling, material use, and construction details are discussed directly, allowing adjustments during the process — especially important when working with existing textiles such as old saris.
The collaborations shown here are long-term. They continue because they are based on reliability, experience, and mutual respect rather than volume or speed.
This page focuses on the people behind the work.
